XIII Migration Bridges in Eurasia

On 8-9 December 2021, IOM representatives took part in the XIII International Scientific and Practical Forum "Migration Bridges in Eurasia: New Migration Reality in the Era of COVID-19", organized by the Institute for Demographic Research of the Federal Center of Theoretical and Applied Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences in cooperation with the Department of Demographic and Migration Policy of MGIMO University of the MFA of Russia , with the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), as well as the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies of Human Potential of MGIMO of the MFA of Russia.

IOM Moscow Chief of Mission made a welcoming speech at the opening of the forum. In his speech, he presented the new IOM World Migration Report, outlined the directions and scope of international migration in 2020–2021, and emphasized the role of migrant remittances in the development of sending countries.

With the support of the IOM Office in Moscow, within the framework of the youth forum "Passport and Visa Diplomacy in Eurasia", a competition of scientific works was organized. According to the results of the competition, three winners were determined. Each laureate of the competition was awarded a diploma and a gift from IOM Moscow.
