Cooperation between IOM Moscow and Diplomatic Academy of the MFA of Russia: Presentation of the Monograph by Professor A. Yastrebova
On June 26, 2014, in the UN House in Moscow on Leontievsky Lane, a presentation of the monograph by Professor of the Department of International Law of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation A. Yastrebova "International legal mechanisms for regulating migration: doctrinal approaches and experience of the Russian Federation" and the educational and methodological manual "Human Rights in International Law”, authors Professor A. Yastrebova and Professor of the Department of State and Legal Disciplines of the Moscow City Pedagogical University T. Pryakhin. The presentation of the publications was organized by IOM Moscow.
In the monograph by A. Yastrebova presents a comprehensive analysis of the international legal mechanisms for regulating modern migration and the process of implementing international legal norms in the national legislation of the Russian Federation in relation to the phenomenon of modern migration. The monograph consists of three sections: the first is devoted to the analysis of the main institutions of international legal regulation of migration and the peculiarities of their application in modern conditions; the second section examines in detail the mechanisms of international legal regulation of migration, operating at the universal and regional levels, and the participation of the Russian Federation in them; and the third section presents the international legal aspects of preventing illegal migration and interstate mechanisms to combat human trafficking.
The educational and methodological manual "Human Rights in International Law" presents the methodological foundations for studying human rights and teaching legal techniques and methods of their protection, and outlines the curriculum for the discipline "Human Rights in International Law". The list of recommended literature and international legal acts is extremely useful, practical tasks on the topics of the curriculum of the discipline deserve special attention.
The first edition of this teaching aid was recognized as the winner of the All-Russian competition for the best scientific book in 2011, which was held among teachers of higher educational institutions and researchers from research institutions.
Professor of the Department of International Law of MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Doctor of Law, Professor Yu. Maleev, in the preface to the teaching aid, noted that the manual "contributes to the formation of the required professional skills and legal knowledge in the field of interstate and constitutional regulation of the rights and freedoms of individuals."
At the presentation, many kind words were addressed to the authors of publications.
