Preliminary Results of the “HIV and Migration” Survey Discussed in Minsk
On May 30, 2018 preliminary results of the survey "HIV and Migration in Belarus" were presented in Minsk. This is the first study of this kind conducted in the republic where the volume of migration is growing.
The study was aimed at exploring the link between population mobility and HIV highlighting specific risks associated with migration so that the appropriate response measures can be formulated.
Presentation included getting feedback from the audience - representatives of the respective government agencies, NGOs and international organizations - with respect to effective steps to prevent and control HIV among migrants in Belarus.
Officially, the report containing suggestions from counterparts is scheduled to be presented in July-August 2018.
