Trip to Ufa, Bashkortostan
On 16-17 June 2021, IOM Moscow Chief of Mission, Abdusattor Esoev, visited Ufa. During the trip, meetings were held with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan A.Z. Badranov, as well as the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Bashkortostan L.Kh. Ivanova.
The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation, the conditions for creating safe and skilled migration in the labour migration corridor, especially in the context of the difficult epidemiological situation caused by the spread of coronavirus infection.
- Providing employers with a workforce is not only one of the main tasks of today, but also the biggest challenges. Today, everyone needs people, - Lenara Ivanova outlined the position of the region. - We are interested in filling the lack of labour resources to maintain the set pace of development of the republic's economy.
The meeting participants also noted the importance of the organized recruitment of migrant workers as an adaptation mechanism for their inclusion in the public life of Bashkortostan.
IOM Moscow CoM also visited the office of the NGO "Migration", a partner of IOM Moscow, got acquainted with various areas of its activities, and visited the Children's Club "Emerald City" - one of the sites where the project "Adaptation School for Migrants' Children "Change" is being implemented, as well as met with representatives of the national cultural centers of Bashkortostan.
