XII Migration Bridges in Eurasia
On 15-16 December 2020, IOM representatives took part in the XII International Scientific and Practical Forum "Migration Bridges in Eurasia: Global and Regional Dimensions", organized by the Institute for Demographic Research – Branch of the Federal Center of Theoretical and Applied Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IDR FCTAS RAS) and the Department of Demographic and Migration Policy of MGIMO University under MFA of Russia.
The main leitmotif of the forum was the issues related in one way or another to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The program of the Forum was very diverse and consisted of the following events: a plenary session and an expert panel "Problems and Prospects for the Development of Human Capital in the Era of the COVID-19 Pandemic" on December 15, as well as the Youth Forum "Passport and Visa Diplomacy in Eurasia" and five thematic round tables on December 16 (Health of migrants during the COVID-19 pandemic; Educational migration and academic mobility; Migration and economic development; Global climate change and migration; Problems of adaptation and integration of migrants in Russia and foreign countries).
IOM Moscow Chief of Mission welcomed the participants at the opening of the Forum, as well as made presentation at the round table "Problems of adaptation and integration of migrants in Russia and foreign countries."
With the support of IOM Office in Moscow, within the framework of the youth forum "Passport and Visa Diplomacy in Eurasia", a competition of scientific works was organized. According to the results of the competition, three winners were determined. Each laureate of the competition was awarded a diploma and a gift from IOM Moscow.
